Step 4: Systemic Detox

Step 4 picks up where Step 3 left off to continue promoting systemic detoxification and healthy drainage pathways with BC-ATP, HM-ET Binder, LymphActiv, and Para 4.* BC-ATP returns to optimize energy production and mitochondrial health, while the other three products are introduced to the protocol for the first time.*

HM-ET Binder is added to promote the body’s natural ability to detoxify beyond the gut and encourage cellular repair during these processes.* LymphActiv lends increased support to the lymphatic system with herbs used traditionally to support lymphatic drainage, such as astragalus root, chuchuhuasi bark, rhubarb root, sheep sorrel, and slippery elm.*

Lastly, Para 4 offers a potent blend of 11 herbs — including celery seed, holy basil, and horsetail — to support digestion, the gut microbiome, and immune health.*

Formulated with Carbon Technology

Carbon Technology is a proprietary blend of fulvic acids and polysaccharides that support cellular repair and the body’s natural ability to detoxify.* With a low pH, Carbon Technology also helps protect ingredients from being digested by stomach acid, so that they remain intact as they enter the desired location in the body.

All of our supplements are formulated with Carbon Technology, with the exception of Para 1, Para 3, and the IS-line.

Foundational Protocol Timeline

The standard Foundational Protocol 4-month timeline is to take Step 1 for month 1. Take Step 2 for month 2. Take Step 3 for month 3. Take Step 4 for month 4. What’s Included

BC-ATP: The highly charged organic acids support metabolism and the ATP cycle in being at peak efficiency.* These carbons also assist in the body’s natural detoxification processes and contribute to a balanced gut microbiome.* In clinical practice, BC-ATP is generally well-tolerated by sensitive individuals and may help improve protocol tolerance.

HM-ET BINDER: A later-stage binder, HM-ET Binder promotes the body’s natural ability to detoxify in the cells and tissues.* It also offers increased support to cellular repair, energy production, immunity, and mitochondrial health, as well as helps protect against life’s everyday stressors.*

LYMPHACTIV: A blend of eight herbs to support the body’s natural detoxification processes and lymphatic motion needed to establish healthy drainage pathways — including astragalus root, chuchuhuasi bark, rhubarb root, sheep sorrel, slippery elm, and soursop leaf.* These botanicals also support healthy adrenal and liver function, immunity, and mental clarity.*

PARA 4: A blend of 11 potent herbs known for supporting digestion, detoxification, and immunity, including celery seed, cordyceps, holy basil, horse tail, noni root, and sarsaparilla.* Together, these herbs also promote a balanced gut microbiome and red blood cell production.*

Note: For those who are sensitive, it’s recommended to introduce one product at a time in the order listed above on the dosing chart.

Continue taking CT-Minerals from Step 3 until the bottle is finished.

Product FAQs

1. Can the supplements in Step 4 cause or worsen existing symptoms?

Since all of the supplements in this step promote the body’s natural detoxification processes,* it’s possible to experience mild detox symptoms, such as bloating, fatigue, constipation, headaches, or gas. This will depend on an individual’s toxic load and varies from person to person.

If an individual experiences excess reactions, we recommend introducing one supplement at a time (and starting with a half dose) in the order listed on the dosing chart.

Note that if the supplements in this step aren’t well tolerated at a regular or sensitive dose, it’s recommended for the patient to do the Comprehensive Protocol instead of the Foundational Protocol — as this suggests the body’s needs for detoxification support are greater.

2. CT-Iodine and IFC were previously included in this step. Why were they removed?

Recently, small modifications have been made to our protocols to make them more effective, better tolerated, and highly customizable.

IFC has become a protocol add-on, as not everyone requires increased system balance support.*

CT-Iodine has been removed from the Foundational Protocol because not everyone will require additional iodine at this stage of supporting detoxification.* However, CT-Iodine can be added at any step if your patient requires additional support.

3. Do any of the supplements interact with medication?

Always consult a licensed healthcare practitioner when introducing a new supplement. As a general guideline, it’s recommended to take all supplements at least two hours away from prescription medications.

4. Do the supplements have to be taken with food, or can they be taken without?

All of the other supplements in this step are recommended to take between meals for maximum potency. However, if patients are sensitive to any of the ingredients, they can take them with meals.

5. Is the protocol safe for children or during pregnancy/breastfeeding?

Yes, children can do the protocol at a lower dose.

When pregnant or breastfeeding, it’s recommended not to promote periods of deeper cleansing. Instead, consider which individual products or kits could support a person’s needs during these life stages.

For example, BC-ATP and CT-Minerals are gentle formulas that are typically well-tolerated and can be taken individually (outside of the protocol) while pregnant or breastfeeding.

For children and women during pregnancy/breastfeeding, we recommend working with a healthcare practitioner closely while taking products.

6. What are the next steps after my patient completes the Foundational Protocol?

We recommend Optimize A and Optimize B (which are phases recommended after completing the Comprehensive Protocol) or the Maintenance Kit, which is designed to help maintain and build on protocol progress.

7. What’s the difference between the Foundational Protocol and the Comprehensive Protocol?

The Foundational Protocol is a four-month approach to supporting detoxification.* It’s intended for individuals who are looking to periodically promote cleansing for an overall wellness boost.* It’s designed to balance the gut microbiome, increase energy levels, and optimize digestive and immune health — but is not as extensive as the Comprehensive Protocol, which covers more specific areas of health.*

The Comprehensive Protocol is an in-depth approach to supporting detoxification, intended for those who are looking to address their health at the root level and require increased immune and gut support. Completing the protocol over a prolonged period (9+ months) provides the body with sufficient time (and nutrients) to promote system balance through detoxification.*

8. What’s the standard 4-month Foundational Protocol timeline?

The standard Foundational Protocol 4-month timeline is to take Step 1 for month 1. Take Step 2 for month 2. Take Step 3 for month 3. Take Step 4 for month 4. For a visual guide to the Foundational Protocol timeline, click the "Protocol Timeline" image at the top of this page where the product pictures appear.
